Our 25-Year Soundtrack

Music doesn’t just top charts—it defines eras. One song can drop you straight back into a moment: the mood, the culture, the energy of that time. One beat, one lyric and suddenly you’re transported—reliving the rush, the memories and everything that made that moment unforgettable.

As OTM celebrates 25 years, we’re pressing play on our own history. Every five years, we’ve chosen a #1 hit that mirrors where we were as an agency—the grit, the hustle, the growing pains and the wins. This soundtrack isn’t just a look back. It’s part nostalgia trip, part mixtape and part love letter to the journey that made us who we are.

2000

“Breathe” – Faith Hill
Track one—the debut single.

The world was nervous about Y2K, but we were nervous about just getting our first clients. Christine’s basement became the birthplace of OTM: a tiny office with oversized coffee mugs, tangled cords and a printer that seemed to have its own mood swings. We huddled around computer screens, late into the night, working out how a tiny new agency could make a mark.

“Breathe” was the perfect anthem. There were moments when it felt like the weight of the world was on our shoulders, but that gentle reminder to pause, inhale and trust the process kept us going. Every small win—a signed client, a positive review or even just surviving a long day without a coffee spill disaster—felt like climbing the charts.

2005

“We Belong Together” – Mariah Carey
Skip ahead five years—cue the comeback anthem.

By 2005, OTM had moved past the basement stage. Flip phones buzzed constantly, MySpace countdowns reminded everyone to check their top friends and Mariah Carey reclaimed her throne on the charts—a reminder that comebacks are always possible.

Things started to really pick up after the expiration of our 5-year non-compete with our former employer. For the first time, we were free to reach back out to former clients and reintroduce our services. One by one, familiar names made a comeback—not only because they knew the quality of our work, but because they trusted the people behind it.

What began as a few reconnections quickly grew into a wave of momentum. Those early clients reminded us that loyalty, trust and relationships can open more doors than opportunity alone. It was exciting to catch back up to speed with former clients and hear familiar voices.

2010

“Tik Tok” - Ke$ha
Next up, a party anthem on repeat.

The 2010s hit like neon lightning, and OTM turned up the volume. We dove into new markets, chased bold opportunities and served creativity hot. One standout story? Service Professionals, established in 1994, was on its own upward trajectory—expanding its footprint and building its “thumbs up” service reputation. What began as a single project is today a partnership that is stronger than ever.

We weren’t just working—we were building something. A growing team of strategists, storytellers and designers. Campaigns that resonated. Clients that challenged us to stretch farther. The tools changed, the timelines tightened and we never missed a beat. “Tik Tok” was the perfect anthem: work hard, celebrate harder and keep the energy flowing.

2015

“Uptown Funk” - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
Turn it up—the funk is here.

By mid-decade, the beat had changed—and so did our space. We traded up, leaving our Cranford office for a bigger, bolder home back in Clark.

The new office wasn’t just bigger; it was a culture shift. Open spaces invited collaboration, brainstorming sessions buzzed with energy and the atmosphere felt alive with possibility. “Uptown Funk” perfectly captured this vibe—confident, fun and impossible to ignore.

This move symbolized more than just square footage. It was a statement: OTM had grown into its own rhythm. We were thinking bigger, taking bolder creative risks and celebrating each other along the way. The team thrived in a space that reflected the culture we had built: energetic, collaborative and full of spark.

2020

“Blinding Lights” - The Weeknd
A track that got us through the dark.

2020 was… well, unforgettable. Remote work, uncertainty and endless Zoom calls became the new normal. Yet even in the midst of chaos, OTM adapted, pivoted and kept creating. Ideas stayed bright, creativity kept flowing and the team stayed connected—miles apart but still in sync.

“Blinding Lights” became our unofficial anthem—capturing urgency, focus and optimism all at once. Even when everything felt offbeat, we found ways to innovate, keep moving forward and let our creativity shine. One highlight? Our video pitch for the NJ 30 Day Fund, created to support small businesses during COVID. That story, told in true OTM fashion, earned us recognition from New Jersey’s First Lady, Mary Pat Christie—and a grant that helped us keep going strong.

2020 taught us that when the world slows down, we speed up—with bright ideas, bold pivots and a beat that doesn’t quit.

2025

“Beautiful Things” - Benson Boone
A track for what truly matters.

Fast-forward to today, and our anthem is Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things”—a song that stops you in your tracks with its heartfelt reminder to hold on to what matters most. It’s a pause in the noise, a chance to look around and appreciate the moments, people and experiences that shape our story.

Over the past 25 years, we’ve gained more than we ever imagined—from lasting partnerships to meaningful projects, and most recently, a Gold Award that celebrates the beautiful things we’ve created together. Yet our greatest legacy isn’t in the accolades, but in the trust, creativity and community that continue to guide us forward.

At OTM, the “beautiful things” aren’t just the work we produce—they’re the enduring connections, the shared memories and the impact that lives on long after each project is complete.
