Our Website: The Story Behind the Screen

A New Era Begins Online

There was a time when a website was little more than a digital business card—a checkbox on a to-do list to confirm your business existed. But those days are long behind us. The web has evolved dramatically, and with it, the role of the website has shifted from formality to foundation. Today, your website is often the first—and most lasting—impression you make. It’s your handshake, your storefront, your story.

At OTM, we’ve grown—as a team, as an agency and as a brand. And our website has grown with us. What began as a basic online placeholder has become one of our most powerful storytelling tools—a living, breathing expression of who we are.

The Original OTM Website: Where It All Began

Our first website was simple. A straightforward layout, minimal visuals and clunky navigation—it was the digital version of training wheels. And for its time, that was enough. Its role was clear: establish credibility, provide contact details and showcase a small gallery of our work. Back then, just having a website felt like a milestone. It was exciting, it was new and it marked the beginning of our digital journey.

The Early 2000s Web: Where Chaos Met Creativity

To understand where we started, you have to picture the World Wide Web of the early 2000s—a fascinating mashup of wild experimentation and technical constraints. It was the prime of “surfing the web,” when every click felt like an adventure into unknown digital territory. Think splash screens with loud intros, blinking neon text, scrolling marquees and ever-present hit counters. Fonts like Comic Sans weren’t ironic—they were just ... popular.

It was a time when design choices were shaped by the limits of technology. Pages loaded slowly, screens were small and everything was built for desktop. But those constraints sparked ingenuity. The early web was messy, sure—but it was also full of possibility.

Pressing Refresh: The OTM Website Reimagined

As the internet matured, so did we. In 2014, we gave our site its first major refresh—a cleaner, more strategic design that better reflected who we were becoming. It was a pivotal step in turning our website from a digital placeholder into a storytelling platform. Then, in 2024, we updated the site once again—further refining the experience to stay aligned with our growth and the evolving ways people engage online.

Our decision to redesign wasn’t about chasing trends—it was about telling a truer story. We didn’t just want a sleeker interface; we wanted to better reflect who we are today. To invite people into our world and let them experience our values, culture and vision firsthand.

The result is more than a redesign—it’s a reintroduction. The new site features a bold, full-width layout, immersive video, fluid animations and a seamless mobile-first experience. It’s modern, yes—but more importantly, it feels like us. It showcases our work, celebrates our people and clearly communicates our services and what drives us.

Where the old site said, “We’re here,” the new one says, “This is who we are. Come take a look around.”

The Bigger Picture: How Far the Web Has Come

OTM’s digital evolution mirrors the broader transformation of the internet itself. Today’s web isn’t just functional—it’s experiential. Fast, intuitive, mobile-friendly and accessible by design. Technologies that once required teams of developers are now in the hands of creatives, allowing ideas to move faster and farther than ever before.

With tools like animation, video, dynamic content, CMS platforms and interactive storytelling, we’re able to bring narratives to life in ways that were unimaginable just a decade ago. And with those tools comes a responsibility—to make every click count and every visit meaningful.
